Sentinel Video Systems data plans
We are excited to announce that with the launch of Sentinel Video System Version 3.0, we have partnered with US Mobile to help drive the cost of your online streaming down!
Sentinel Video Systems V3 has been tested extensively with all three of the backend networks that US Mobile supports and gives you the ultimate in flexibility for whatever racetrack you find yourself at!
In the box with your V3 hardware you will find 3 in activate US Mobile SIM cards, one for Lightspeed (T-Mobile), one for DarkStar (AT&T), and one for Warp (Verizon). You can activate these SIM cards directly on the US Mobile website here: Shared data plans for business | US Mobile.
It is highly recommended that you create a "Data Pool" and activate each one of these lines into the same pool. The cost for the first line is $10/mo and each additional line is $8/mo. From that point on this will be your only static cost. $26/mo. You are free to use any combination of these three SIM cards in Sentinel at any time. While you are on the US Mobile site you should setup automatic TOP ups for your data pool to always have data available for your systems. I recommend setting your automatic top up to 25-50GB which at $2.00gb is between $50-100. Unused data will roll over to the next month so you wont be wasting money.
How much data should you expect to use? At super high quality on Sentinel V3 you can expect to use about 2GB/hour so your running costs end up being your monthly spend ($26) + your usage at $4 * number of hours.
For the average team that runs 6 endurance races per year, this totals out to be $26 for monthly access (if you use the network or not) and $80 per race for a total of $792/year for access to 3 networks with PRIORITY data.
Compared to carrying one line of Verizon, one line of T-Mobile and one line of AT&T where the spend could easily end up being $200/Mo regardless of usage if you want priority data.
